Boundless Volunteers will have the wonderful opportunity to welcome Salvationists from around the world to London and The O2. We are looking for enthusiastic individuals to support the Congress as a volunteer from 29 June to 5 July 2015 in various venues and roles.

When submitting your volunteer application, you will have the opportunity to specify which of the following roles you are interested in and you can find out further information by clicking on each role below. The Congress Office will try allocate assignments according to preference, but for operational reasons this cannot be guaranteed. We ask that volunteers are willing to serve in any role.

  • Back of House
    • The responsibilities of this role will include the following:
    • Serve in Back of House areas at various venues as scheduled during the week of Congress.
    • Know the schedules of the performers and VIPs to assist them while in assigned areas.
    • Communicate effectively with members of the Boundless Workforce regarding Back of House rules and area access.
    • Communicate with performance groups to ensure they are on time for performances.
    • Provide information to performance groups and VIPs about dressing room allocations.
    • Know the rules and guidelines for the Back of House areas.
    • Remain at assigned location while on duty unless otherwise directed by supervisor.
    • Report to Team Leader at the end of shift to share feedback about the day.
    • Communicate any issues to the Back of House Team Leader.
    • Other duties as assigned.
  • Delegate Services - Information
    • The responsibilities of this role will include the following:
    • Serve at the Information Desk and around the O2 as scheduled during the week of Congress.
    • Know the schedules of the programmes.
    • Communicate effectively with delegates and members of the public to share Congress information.
    • Inspire delegates to have positive attitudes throughout the week of Congress.
    • Provide travel information to delegates as needed.
    • Provide directions to delegates as needed.
    • Provide assistance to delegates who have questions.
    • Be familiar with the Boundless website to guide delegates to information located there.
    • Remain at assigned location while on duty unless otherwise directed by supervisor.
    • Report to Team Leader at the end of shift to share feedback about the day.
    • Communicate any issues to the Information Team Leader.
    • Other duties as assigned.
  • Greeter
    • The responsibilities of this role will include the following:
    • Serve at various locations as scheduled during the week of Congress.
    • Maintain a positive attitude to welcome delegates.
    • Engage delegates to create a positive experience.
    • Communicate effectively with delegates.
    • Communicate effectively with members of the public.
    • Provide information about the Congress schedules as needed.
    • Give directions to delegates as needed.
    • Signpost delegates to The O2 staff for any queries on venue rules and safety procedures.
    • Remain at assigned location while on duty unless otherwise directed by supervisor.
    • Report to Team Leader at the end of shift to share feedback about the day.
    • Communicate any issues to the Greeter Team Leader.
    • Other duties as assigned.
  • Host - Boundless Buddy
    • The responsibilities of this role will include the following:
    • Travel with a group of sponsored delegates to serve as their guide throughout their time in the UK.
    • Assist assigned group with registration at their accommodation site.
    • Provide information to sponsored delegates about the Programme contents.
    • Assist group with logistics at Congress events.
    • Communicate important information to the group.
    • Assist sponsored delegates with the use of their prepaid cards.
    • Ensure that sponsored delegates travel safely from their accommodation to the O2 and other venues around London.
    • Report to Team Leader at the end of shift to share feedback about the day.
    • Report any issues to the Host Team Leader.
    • Other duties as assigned.
  • Registration
    • The responsibilities of this role will include the following:
    • Serve at the Registration Area as scheduled during the week of Congress.
    • Assist with the distribution of registration packs to delegates.
    • Assist with packing up remaining delegate packs at the end of each day.
    • Communicate effectively with delegates to resolve problems they may have in regards to their registration.
    • Know the rules and guidelines for delegates in regards to registration pick-up.
    • Provide assistance to delegates who have questions.
    • Provide information about additional tickets to delegates as needed.
    • Remain at assigned location while on duty unless otherwise directed by supervisor.
    • Report to Team Leader at the end of shift to share feedback about the day.
    • Communicate any issues to the Registration Team Leader.
    • Other duties as assigned.
  • Translation
    • The responsibilities of this role will include the following:
    • Serve at the translation area as scheduled during the week of Congress.
    • Distribute translation devices to appropriate delegates in accordance with check-out system.
    • Ensure that headsets are properly stored and charged at the end of each session.
    • Know the schedules of the sessions.
    • Know the rules and guidelines for equipment use.
    • Communicate effectively with delegates about translation equipment rules.
    • Provide assistance to delegates who have questions.
    • Resolve problems that delegates may have with the translation hardware.
    • Remain at assigned location while on duty unless otherwise directed by supervisor.
    • Report to Team Leader at the end of shift to share feedback about the day.
    • Communicate any issues to the Translation Team Leader.
    • Other duties as assigned.
  • Workforce Operations
    • The responsibilities of this role will include the following:
    • Serve at the Workforce Operations Hub as scheduled during the week of Congress.
    • Inspire the Boundless Workforce to have great attitudes throughout the week of Congress.
    • Communicate effectively with members of the Boundless Workforce regarding rules and guidelines while they serve at Congress.
    • Know the rules and guidelines for volunteers & staff.
    • Know how to operate Volgistics, the check-in system for volunteers.
    • Provide assistance to members of the Workforce who have questions.
    • Remain at assigned location while on duty unless otherwise directed by supervisor.
    • Report to Team Leader at the end of shift to share feedback about the day.
    • Communicate any issues to the Accreditation Team Leader.
    • Other duties as assigned.
