Children's Programme and Nursery Information Released

21 October 2013

At the recent Congress Planning and Advisory Council meeting, the options for the Children’s programme were discussed and we are pleased to share information with you about the children’s programme and nursery service that will be available during the Congress.

The children’s programme will be open on Saturday 4th July and Sunday 5th July for Congress delegates between the ages of 6 and 12 years old. This decision has been made based on historical data which shows that more than 80% of the children who have come to International Congresses in the past have come from the host country. The school year in the UK doesn’t finish until mid-July so the majority of children will be in school and unable to attend the Congress on Wednesday, Thursday or Friday. Therefore, specific programming for this age category will begin on Saturday morning and conclude after the closing rally on Sunday.

Any children who will be at the Congress on the other days are of course welcome to attend the main sessions and the General has challenged the Congress planners to ensure that every session is child-friendly and will, in some way, involve them.

We are also able to confirm that for children under 5 years old, there will be a nursery service available during all of the general sessions provided by a certified childcare provider. If the child is a fully registered delegate then there will be no additional charge, if the child is not registered as a full delegate they are still able to use the nursery but there will be a cost to use this service.

For more information please visit the children’s programme or nursery pages or contact the Congress Office who will be happy to answer any question you may have.
